The Excel laser has become the gold standard in treating many vascular conditions including the ability to safely and effectively treat high pressure vessels, deep veins, and superficial veins on the face for men and women of all skin tones. If you have visible veins or other vascular irregularities, Excel vascular treatments may be the solution. In addition research has show that the high power green laser (532 nm) can effectively lighten bruising.
Excel V laser therapy is safe and effective for all skin tones, including light, dark and tanned skin. Good candidates for post-procedure bruising treatment have bruising that is darker and longer duration than is typical (e.g. persisting beyond 10 – 14 days post-procedure).
The Excel V laser uses a chill tip to rapidly cool the skin before the laser energy is delivered. This minimizes any discomfort and protects the skin. Most patients feel a slight stinging sensation briefly when the energy pulses are delivered.
There are few side effects with this treatment, although some patients may experience redness and minor swelling at the treatment site. This typically dissipates within a day.
The majority of patients find that visible bruises lighten several shades within minutes of treatment.
The number of treatments depends on the extent of bruising with larger darker bruises likely requiring several treatments. In many cases, patients see dramatic improvement after a single treatment, and many do not require repeat sessions. Patients may also use oral Arnica Montana and Bromelain if not contraindicated. In addition patients may benefit from topical use of Arnica + K Cream.
