When we look at someone’s face, our attention is naturally drawn to the eyes. As a result, the eyelids and eyebrows are often among the first features we notice. So, it's easy to become self-conscious about your appearance when you have bulging eyelids, uneven brows, or excess eyelid skin. This is where blepharoplasty and brow lifts can make a massive difference.
What Can I Expect From the Recovery and Results?
You can typically return home within a couple of hours of your blepharoplasty procedure. For up to two weeks following the surgery, you may experience some of these symptoms:
- Bruising
- Swelling
- Tenderness
- Blurry vision
- Light sensitivity
- Watery eyes
- Puffy eyelids
You will also need to avoid strenuous activity for one to two weeks, but after the first 14 days, you should have no problem returning to your normal daily life.
As the swelling and bruising subside, the results of the surgery should gradually become visible. After a couple of weeks, you should see the full effects. The results should last at least several years, and in many cases, they last a lifetime.
