Once the breasts begin to sag due to age, breastfeeding, or weight loss, many women begin to consider a breast lift. This can be an incredible procedure for restoring a woman’s femininity and self-esteem. To elevate results, many patients choose to combine their breast lift with an augmentation as well.

To determine if a breast lift with implants is the right procedure to deliver the results you want, you will meet with Dr. Kreithen to discuss your areas of concern, desired outcome, body type, and lifestyle. Your medical history will be taken and your breasts will be examined to assess the right surgical technique. This initial consultation is also where you will be able to voice any questions or concerns.
We will go over the types of implants we offer, the techniques we use for incisions, your preference for breast size and shape, home care, and what to expect during recovery. After this consultation, you will meet with our patient coordinator, and go over estimated procedure costs, and schedule your surgery if you so choose.
During your consultation, Dr. Kreithen will decide with you which type of incisions will be best for your desired results. On the day of your procedure, you will receive general anesthesia and the pre-determined incisions will be made in the breast area. A pocket is made for the implant to be inserted (either underneath or on top of the pectoral muscle). The areolas and nipples will be re-positioned, and may also be resized. The tissue of the breast(s) will be remodeled, any excess skin will be removed, and the incisions will be closed with sutures.
Patients who undergo a breast lift with implants can typically go back to work in one week. During recovery, you can expect soreness, some discoloration, swelling, tightness, and sensitivity in the breasts. Your skin may also feel warm and/or itchy. During recovery, it’s important to take it easy. Don’t attempt to clean up your house or lift anything over five pounds.
Driving should be limited. You will also need to sleep on your back in an inclined position for about two weeks. During your consultation, we will go over everything you can expect during recovery, and we will also provide you with detailed home care instructions.
