ThermiTight is an application of the ThermiAesthetics system that uses radiofrequency (RF) technology to rejuvenate the skin safely. RF energy has been used safely in medicine for more than 75 years to generate heat, and this procedure uses this technology to tighten tissue of the arms, back, neck, chest and face for non-surgical skin-tightening.
How ThermiTight Works
This procedure produces smoother skin through targeted radio frequency energy. RF energy induces the reduction of wrinkles, tightens skin and helps contour the body by heating hypodermis adipose tissue (or the fat layer in the hypodermis) that causes the release of liquid fat from fat cells and induces fat cells to shrink in the treatment area.
Areas That Can Be Treated
This procedure may be administered on several areas, including:
- Lower face and neck
- Arms
- Legs
- Stomach
- Breasts
- Hips
- Back
It may also be combined with other procedures such as liposuction or ThermiSmooth, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles at the surface of the skin. Patients with a substantial amount of loose, excess skin may also consider a facelift, tummy tuck, or other surgical procedure, after which ThermiRF skin tightening may be used to maintain results.
Are You a Candidate?
Candidates for this skin tightening procedure want tighter skin but are not ready for more invasive surgery such as a facelift. Patients who have unwanted pockets of stubborn fat that do not respond to diet and exercise may also be an excellent candidate. While the results of this procedure will not be equal to more invasive options, there is very little downtime and it can produce excellent results. Some patients choose this procedure to address skin that is drooping naturally from age, or to treat areas where they have lost fat deposits.
This procedure is safe for all skin complexions and it can treat a wide variety of skin conditions. Contact us for a consultation to determine if you are a good candidate.
FAQ
Which procedure is better for me, ThermiTight or ThermiSmooth?
ThermiSmooth is the least powerful option of the two as it does not require an incision but rather passes the energy over the surface of the skin to treat superficial lines and wrinkles.
How is RF skin tightening different than ultrasound or laser procedures?
Unlike ultrasound or laser technique, in which energy is placed on the surface of the skin and directed downward, RF energy stimulates the skin from within. This procedure is also more effective because it uses an internal probe to apply energy below the surface of the skin to directly target collagen. The continuous temperature monitor on the probe also ensures the precise and safe amount of heat required to tighten the skin is applied for better outcomes.
Are there any side effects of ThermiTight?
While there is no downtime associated with the procedure, you may experience a small amount of swelling or bruising. Side effects are unlikely due to built-in safety features of the system.
How long will results last?
Clinical research indicates the effects of the procedure last 1-2 years or more. Your results will depend on the initial amount of sun exposure, laxity, and your lifestyle.
How many treatments will I need?
For many patients, a single ThermiTight treatment is enough, although some patients require two treatments for the desired results.
