Treatment, downtime, and results
Radiesse is injected under the skin in a short, safe procedure that typically takes less than 15 minutes. The solution contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic that makes the injections almost painless for most patients.
Patients may return to work and resume normal activities shortly after treatment, but mild to moderate (and in some cases, more significant) temporary swelling may occur. There may also be redness, bruising and/or tenderness at the injection sites for a few days. There is also a small percentage of patients who experience lumpiness where Radiesse was injected, but this will quickly settle.
Results will be visible immediately, and very natural-looking. These results may last up to a year or longer, depending on patient factors such as metabolism.
