ThermiSmooth 250 is a non-invasive procedure in clinical study phase. Holcomb – Kreithen Plastic Surgery and Dermatology is pleased to be one of the clinics in the United States to be included in the FDA IRB Clinical Study. During the study phase, we will be offering 50% off the list price for all study participants. The procedure is new to the United States but has been approved in Europe where thousands of treatments have been performed with successful results.
ThermiSmooth 250 uses targeted radio frequency (RF) energy and is performed using a specially designed thermistor regulated handpiece to deliver precise heating to the skin’s surface. When the skin’s collagen reaches the desired temperature it reacts by shrinking. Additionally, an inflammatory process is initiated that stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen over a period of time.
This shrinking effect is what causes the skin to naturally tighten, smoothing the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles, cellulite, skin laxity and/or fat. At the same time, the skin’s natural inflammatory response heating is to produce new collagen, furthering the beneficial effects of the procedure.
